Strategic Action Agenda (SAA) 2024-2025 

‌Enhancing Skidmore Excellence: Strategic Action Agenda 2024-2025 is now posted on the strategic planning website. This document provides context for and review of last year’s SAA and presents four goals for this year’s agenda. These goals emerged from and continue to support Skidmore’s current strategic plan, and provide a pathway to our next Strategic Plan, 2025-2030.

‌Offer input on strategic themes 

‌As part of Strategic Plan (2025-2030), members of the College community are invited to share feedback with the Campus Sustainability Subcommittee via sustainability boards in Case Center and the Billie Tisch Center for Integrated Sciences and an online feedback form available through Friday, Nov. 22. Share feedback with the Committee on Intercultural and Global Understanding through a brief questionnaire.

‌Mandatory Title IX training available ‌

‌All employees (including student workers) are required to complete the annual HR mandatory trainings by Dec. 6. Required trainings will now be completed in two parts: ‌

  • ‌Part II: Title IX & You: Protecting Your Campus (faculty and staff only). A student version of the Title IX training will soon follow. ‌ ‌

‌Next week, Skidmore Weekly Bulletin will be published on Tuesday, Nov. 26; please send submissions by Friday, Nov. 22. Submit announcements and events; lectures, panels, and other academic events; and faculty-staff achievements by completing the appropriate online form.

‌Host an international student for Thanksgiving ‌

‌Student Academic Services is matching international students with Skidmore families who would like to add cheer and intercultural exchange to their Thanksgiving meals. ‌Skidmania '74 open dress rehearsal and watch party 

‌Missed out on Skidmania '74 tickets? Cheer on friends and peers free of charge at the 3 p.m. dress rehearsal this Friday, Nov. 22, at Zankel Music Center. Students may also attend a livestream watch party at 8 p.m. on Friday in the Elisabeth Luce Moore Hall (room 117). Contact Teresa Rockwell with questions. 

‌Kids Night Out

‌Kids ages 5 to 13 are invited to enjoy well-supervised recreational activities sponsored by the baseball team in Williamson Sports Center from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., on Friday Nov. 22. No preregistration is necessary. Cost is $10 per child. Contact Ron Plourde for more information. 

‌Children's books drive 

‌The Reading Minds Scribner Seminar is hosting a book drive to collect new and gently used books for babies, children, and teens through Friday, Dec. 6. All books will be donated to the Saratoga Children's Literacy League, which provides free books to the children of Saratoga County. Books can be dropped off outside the CIS398 classroom. ‌Annual sports sale 

‌Save the date for the annual sports apparel sale, from noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Williamson Sports Center rec gym. Cash, check or Skidmore card accepted. Contact Sherry Ankeny for more information. ‌

‌Exchange Closet winter donations ‌

‌The Exchange Closet, which has moved to Library 126, is requesting winter donations (jackets, coats, hats, etc.). Please drop off any donations to the Case Desk or Case 207 during business hours. Please contact Mary Ann Toia with questions. ‌ 

‌Facilities updates ‌

‌Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, power will be shut down for Case Center, Ladd Hall, and Scribner Library while Facilities replaces electrical equipment. All buildings and systems will be monitored and checked during and after the outage. A crane and other equipment will be located near Case Green area during this time. The Case Center loading deck will be closed on Monday, Nov. 25, for work. In the case of inclement weather, projects will be rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 30, and Tuesday, Dec. 3, respectively. 

‌Seeking winter job shadowing hosts ‌ ‌

‌The Career Development Center is seeking job shadow hosts as part of its 2025 Winter Job Shadow Program. Job shadow hosts can include alumni, parents, or employers who provide firsthand insight into the daily demands and responsibilities of their respective fields to sophomore students. Athletics News

A Wednesday basketball doubleheader highlights a week featuring three home hoops games. At 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, women’s basketball will host Middlebury College. Then, at 7:30 p.m., men’s basketball will play host to SUNY Potsdam. On Saturday, Women’s basketball will play its third-straight NESCAC foe in Williams at 3 p.m., and riding hosts its final home show of the first semester.
